So why so wound up part two. Well the world has changed and i fear many will spend the rest of their lives on welfare.
Why ?  Well we now have china india the former soviet union and a few billion others on the band wagon and so they should be, If you are going to make anything at all you must be using the latest technology, Now it may not be apparent why but believe me it will become apparent to you later on. In general whilst things are ticking over nicely you will probably be ok but when things downturn a bit you will probably end up wiped out. why ? Well this is what i have been bumping my gums about and i can not generalise for every industry but i believe it to be true for most, If the most you have to do when you turn up at work is fire up a lap top or pc check your email even check your on line banking update a design print off some data for the workshop well you can not go wrong can you. Well you can't the processing power of computers is pretty vast and in a nut shell you can run a whole company from a note pad. Whats the down side well you have to learn how to use one and the associated software,  This was the hardest thing i ever had to do i would rather spend ten hours with a sledge hammer than ten minutes on a key board so how did i get here ? Well the biggest factor that  changed my life was mike what he could do in his head i needed a computer to do. Now me and mike went back about 25 years but only hooked up properly in the last ten years or so, my bag was diggers and his was the attachments so a marriage made in heaven you might say and we had many a happy hour together trying to outsmart each other but he was more than my match.. Well now i am getting closer to what i wanted to say "it is just coming to the surface " It is no good being passionate about something you have to be clever about it and that to me is a tragedy but true all the same. So 49 years on and decided to get smart and get technical now do not get me wrong i am no mug or least thought i was not. Another funny thing that i learned  because i worked from the age of twelve basically part time school holidays weekends any spare time at all by the time i was sixteen i thought i new everything and indeed kept me fairly well fed and watered for a good long time. So why am i beating the drum on this one well we are now competing on a global scale and if you think the AVERAGE brit is going to out graft your average chinese dude think again and please note the word average i know there are some exceptional blokes in the uk and have met a few on the road , Now none of this really matters because we have technology to do just about anything these days so just a matter of learning it we also have excellent infrastructure rail roads plane and the like so in theory we should stay top dog for some time to come. It is just down to you lot to get your heads down and get technical .Ok one last rant if you like there are a lot walking round with first class  degrees at the moment and waving them in peoples faces,,Well keep waving them because i have seen all that bull before , last time many of them ended up cleaning the streets, Dont believe me ? 
Please yourselves .. So what now well people are always going to want stuff it is just down to price so get your head round ..well automation in a nut shell..l was talking to a mate a few years ago about all the new social science stuff sociology etc etc and told him my thoughts on the subject "extreme" Well he put me straight about something he said that although the subjects might be a load of bull to me at least the students had displayed the ability to grasp the subject and absorb the material and be tested on it .. Well i thought maybe we could teach them to make stuff like we used to do in the good old days. coffee time "started to shake"
